Ganesh’s Journey
Ganesh, from an underprivileged background, sustained a spinal cord injury in 2020 while playing football, leaving him paralyzed from the D9–D11 vertebrae. He is currently receiving care at Anamprem’s Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Centre. Despite having no prior training, he was unexpectedly selected for the Maharashtra Wheelchair Cricket Team and performed remarkably well. He has represented Maharashtra in tournaments across Bangalore, Mumbai, Gwalior, Pune, and Telangana, and has now earned a place in the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team. With frequent travel for practice and matches, he requires financial support to continue his training and represent India with pride
Kalpana’s Journey
Kalpana was born with partial blindness to a humble farming family in Maharashtra. She came to Anamprem in search of education and emotional stability. With guidance and counselling, she completed her D.Ed. in Special Education (Hearing Impairment) in 2025. At Anamprem, she also discovered her passion for sports and began excelling in Goalball and Para Yogasana. Kalpana has represented Maharashtra at national-level events and won a Gold Medal at the National Para Yogasana Sports Championship in New Delhi in 2025, achieving the first rank in the visually impaired category.
Through this support, Orbis aims to empower young talent, promote inclusivity, and open pathways for children with disabilities to achieve their sporting dreams.
